The Post-Oxford Years

moon shoes.bmp

We’re still seeing oxfords and jazz shoes out and about, and we still love them, but because they’re so ubiquitous these days we’ve started scouting around for fresh takes on the classic nerdy dance shoe style.

The best ones we’ve found so far come from DRU New York, one of our favorite new footwear labels.

The “Moon” shoes with their chunky wood platform, blue canvas upper, adorable cut-out, and brown leather tie reference oxfords, but in a really sassy and new way. They’re also available as flats.

We also really appreciate how Tiffany Chantra, the designer behind Dru, has kept her line of well-constructed and unique shoes at a really good price point, with most styles hovering around $100. No need to sacrifice quality for a good deal here.

I like this look on thin girls, but I can't imagine them doing anything for my not-so-thin ankles. What do you think about the Andrea for a more flattering shoe? I love the "I was running in high heels to get to an important meeting but they broke so I just tore them off" look.

You're right, these shoes would look great with tights, but I think they'd look even better with over the knee socks like the argyle print pair seen on SJP during SATC filming. If you still have your shoes from the first time round over the knee socks are a great way to update them as they are the key trend this winter. Especially with St Trinnians film about to launch! I got mine from www.tightsplease.co.uk. I bought them onlin eand had mine within a week!
