Too Early for Shoes?

Nov 27, 2007 @ 10:04am

christianlouboutin.jpg We've been known to drag ourselves out of bed for early morning yoga, but an early morning shoe sale?

We don't know if we can handle it, but Saks' New York flagship store is hoping you can.

On Wednesday, their coveted new "Shoe Floor" holds its first ever sale - at 7:30 am.

The floor will discount hundreds of heels, from Louboutin classics to riskier Roger Vivier offerings. But this is hardly the Barneys Warehouse Sale, and the possibilities of landing a Lanvin wedge for under $250 seem smaller than seeing Gemma Ward back on a New York runway.

Is it worth it to shop super-early for 30% off footwear? Or should we stay in bed searching for online deals?

30% off? At 7:30 in the morning, I'm not getting out of bed for less than 50%.

If it was more than 30% off I would've totally been there. Unfortunately the 570 Prada shoes and 490 YSL pumps with the wooden heel that I want wouldn't be THAT much affordable :(

I'm waiting. Even though I have big feet (40-41) and am a victim of these manufacturers who don't make enough big sizes leaving slimmer pickings for us tall girls. Shoes always get reduced further. I'm only going in when they're 60%-70% off or more. It always happens and if not, there's Bergdorf Goodman. 30% is just a teaser, not a real sale.

Yeah, I was just going to say, go to Bergdorfs when they have their sale. They always have amazing inventory in the bigger sizes.

Oooh, good to know about the Bergdorfs and big feet connection! My size 9.5 - 10s thank you folks!

Now if I could only find a pair of Lanvin flats in the brown-y purple in my size... sigh.

Alas it seems that all shoe manufacturers make way too few flats in the larger sizes (40 and above) so they never make it on sale. I wish they'd wake up to the market for larger sizes--you cannot take a shoe out the way you can a dress.
