Gareth Pugh on Ashlee Simpson

We knew Ashlee Simpson made the rounds last Fashion Week, but we didn't know she's as fashionably educated as she (or her stylist) seems to be.


In her newest video, Outta My Head, you can see the pop starlet shaking it in what looks like a giant steel birdcage, wearing one of our favorite Gareth Pugh dresses from S/S '08.

We don't know if Ashlee had the fashion chops to pick this dress out for herself, or if a team of professionals did the job for her (probably the latter).

Either way, we love exposure for Gareth, even if it comes from an Ashlee Simpson music video.

aww the video was cute. kinda gwen stefani-esque. kinda more edgy than we know ashlee really is...but it was cute. round of applause for everyone we dont see: the director, stylist, etc.

i love the surrealism aspect of the video...so on trend. she's obviously got some smart people behind her. the part in the cage, however, struck me as a little too similar to Gwen's "Sweet Escape" video where she is in the jail, right down to the hair, the stripes, and even the robotic dance moves

I kinda like the video... but the song seriously makes me want to kill someone. Ay ya ya ya! I mean, WTF? But I'll have to completely agree with the people who say it's Gwen Stefani-esque.

I don't know who this is more embarrassing for, Gareth or Ashlee. They both deserve each other because they are both mediocre. He is a bad designer who has made a 'career' off of copying others who are more talented than him and she is a boring pop star. That sounds like a reality show!
