"I have also begun to think the unthinkable. That people in L.A are not stupid after all. Could this be an extremely sophisticated, somewhat cruel joke that they are playing on the world, pretending to be shallow, self-absorbed and unable to make a left turn? Is this a cunning plan to fool us into underestimating them so they can take over? Mmm." - Franklin Getchell, partner of home furnishings company Moss, on Los Angeles, in The Moment.
