Lily Donaldson Probably Beat Your SAT Score

lily dior copy.jpgLast May, Vogue’s Jonathan Van Meter spent a couple of days hanging out with the newest group of supermodels (Coco, Doutzen, Chanel,) and referred to Lily Donaldson as “the smartest and most sophisticated of the bunch.”

But next month’s British Vogue reports that Lily’s intelligence is a little less straightforward, and that she’s actually just cooler and nicer than anyone else backstage.

Of a long, fractured quote Lily gives in trying to talk about her job, Daisy Garnett writes, “Only she doesn’t say this all at once as an articulated thought. She says it biting her lip and shrugging her shoulders and um-ing and ah-ing a lot.”

We’ve included part of the interview here so you can decide for yourself -

Either Lily is brilliant and just exhausted from fashion week (our bet), or Vogue was so excited about Lily’s sharp looks and shining aura that they automatically assigned it a character (also, sort of, our bet).

Her full interview is here - read it to realize why models should probably be met with before Fashion Week…

I did not hear such nice comments about her from fashion show producers last season...

I hear she's got a terrible attitude...really stuck up...

Also, the link to the interview doesn't work (or any other TFS stuff at the moment)...is that just me or is there some sort of site problem?

no matter wat lily d is my doll.
shes onli human. heck theyre all humans. they can act all badass and mean and i still wuldnt mind. its who they are. we shuldnt expect so much frm them. its not like we need them to build rockets for us. they juz need to look pretty and cure our eyes frm any eyesores .

the intelligence thingy is juz an added and much appreciated quality of them. they make fashion more entertaining and interesting.

MODELS ARE THE BEST!

guest at 1:59: It is apparent from your writing that you are not qualified to comment on the subject of intellect. If you believe you are, present yourself in a way that communicates that belief.

I highly doubt any model got an SAT score higher than me.

But, they're much prettier than me, so, even?

1:59 sounds like she's texting that comment from her phone, but she's right. they don't need to be smart or eloquent, jsut look good.

as an assistant to a major photographer, i've worked with lily off and on many times, and she hasn't changed much.. she's a diva! she has a very low attention span, even lower patience, she is not diplomatic and she certainly is not polished nor has manners. i don't know if she thinks she's better or that she just doesn't care.

this whole intelligence thing is pr that someone paid for, obviously. i believe her beauty and modeling career saved her life, otherwise she would be working for her father or some trade in a blue collar jumpsuit.
