Forever 21 is starting to really get on my nerves with the copy cat stuff ....and whats more upsetting is a lot of people buy things from there not knowing that they are purchasing a replica of some sort!

Yes, sometimes Forever 21 can look cheap but get over it. No one is making you buy it. The girl that you turn your head to look twice at is probably mixing and matching expensive pieces with well chosen affordable pieces. Plus, what's done has been done, a million times over. The only thing I haven't seen come back is the super super high hair sprayed hair from the 80's. yet.

it's ok ladies! calm down! you all know that no god-fearing F21 customer will ever be able to find that hideous blazer in that junk-pile they call a store!

Since discovering this website (and a love of fashion I never knew I had!), I have beeen noticing knock offs more and more. I'd venture to say that most people do not know that what is sold in F21 type tores are usually knockoff pieces, I sure didnt. I like the blazer in all its incarnations, but can't think of many who could pull it off.

J.Crew had a blue and white knockoff (and a gray and white one too?). Much closer than this one...

Dec 27th 11:58pm guest I have said the same thing over and over. No one is original nowadays and wont be for a very very long time. It's cool to bring back stuff from different decades but what is going to happen when other people look back at our time and see well we just weren't that damn original.
Don't ya think that those chain stores you tend to buy from aren't replica's of something? Give it a rest!
People let's get original!

Club Monaco has one in stock right now too - black with white trim, plus a chest-crest. (hee.) $250, I think. Hm.

it truely feels like a garbage bag in person. i'll wear forever 21 occasionally because I am a broke college student, but I go for inexpensive, not cheap. that blazer is above and beyond cheap.

The bcbg one is really cute! It takes the old trend and modernizes it. I love the zipper.

I own the actual Balenciaga blazer and none of the copies that I've seen can even compare with the design, structure, and fit of the original. The forever 21 blazer looks so cheap (why red and black?).
One amazing thing about the Balenciaga blazer that none of the copies I've seen have, is the flaring in the back of the blazer.

first of all the button is swiped on the picture... models are wearing it with button being in their left (like it should be its a girlie jacket) but on the black/red its button is on its right. Jacket is adorable though! Second of all if my makeup were all over my face like a grey unibrow i would not be "what we all know and love" I actually like Forever 21 some of their designs are very cute.. just this ad is not very well thought out.

If they want to copy a designer piece, they should learn to do it well!!!!!

I love it how Balenciaga knocks itself off by releasing "copies" of vintage clothes with their "Edition Collection".

Hahaha wow, it really amuses me how you people can say things like that. You guys always bash clothing that costs less than $200 instead of appreciating it for what it is. I have no sympathy for designers because they should know that not everyone has a bank account w/ millions and if say, someone liked a certain designer and saw a similar (i repeat, SIMILAR, not an exact copy cause that would be plagiarism) outfit in a cheaper-priced store then why, should they be denied the right to wear clothes they find nice? You may say... because so and so copied so and so. No that is not the point. Yes, undoubtedly, F21 did copy the blazer, but because they want poorer people to be given the chance to be fashionable.
What is good style anyway? Paying thousands of dollars on clothes doesn't make you have good style, its how you put things together. LOOK AT THE MODEL ON THE RIGHT.
- Just look at her blue-fringed scarf - I have seen them countless of times in scarves woven by tribal women; in the Philippines, in Mexico, in Africa... I've seen that scarf in souvenir shops in America!... In tiny villages in France, in Japan, China.. YOU GET MY POINT.
I hope you are not shallow enough to think "Oh, all those tribal people copied Balenciaga." For God's sakes! Most of these people don't even have TV, let alone internet! They live far, far away from any Balenciaga store or Balenciaga blazer-making factory! If you ask whoever designed that scarf to tell you where they got the inspiration from, surely, they will tell you... from the traditional weave of tribal etc...
Besides, in the fashion world... Don't you get criticised for wearing something more than once? If you're only going to wear that Balenciaga blazer for a week, or even one season at the most... it is still a waste. Why then would you need to invest in a quality blazer? It will go out of fashion quickly enough anyway. It will be considered "out" next year...

In response to ("Hahaha wow, it really amuses me how you peopl..."): Uh designers don't think everybody can afford the high priced clothes, but if you appreciate the finer details && fabrics used to make a more aesthetically pleasing articles of clothing, then you will invest in such things. Things that are cheap don't have to look that way, thats why they often get shot down. If you have more important issues then this seasons Balenciaga, then your cheap clothes don't bother you.

I dont need to tell you who I am or how much I earn each year... I was just speaking out on behalf of the population who dont earn millions like you. It is sad to see that a lot of you are sucked into thinking that you will not be accepted into fashionable society unless you pay hoards for, in this case, a jacket.
You can mix a Chanel 2.55 bag with flipflops you bought in the flea market.

goodness! whats the tuff? no need to fight. to each their own on what debt they decide, beautiful fashion is not about price its about the fashion. I know plenty of beautiful fashionable women who will bargain their best. I`ve even found a few cute things i can work into outfits at goodwill. so be it! Price is not the issue.
The issue was about poor workmanship on the ad mainly... its not aesthetically pleasing.
oh another thing if your going to rant entire novels about your opinion make an account ;)
