SATC Trailer: Another Fake?

Dec 07, 2007 @ 3:05pm

SATC wedding photo.jpgAfter watching (and re-watching) the new Sex and the City trailer this morning, we’re convinced that, like many of the scenes filmed around the city, this trailer is a fake.

The proof:

1. You can hear Carrie say, “Hello, Lover!” This is not new- it’s from when she sees the Louboutins that she buys for Big’s last night in New York.

2. You can hear the quote, “trends come and go, but friendships never go out of style,” also from an old episode.

3. In one scene, she is wearing the same tutu outfit from the opening credits of the show (we’re just going to pretend that no one would buy a tutu twice in one lifetime.)

Not to mention that it also seems too short to be a real movie trailer, and so much emphasis is put on Carrie’s photo shoot in a wedding gown- we’re pretty sure there’s no way Carrie will be married by the end. That would just be too much.

Does anyone else feel like it’s a fake?

It's real, it's just a "teaser" trailer. Movies do that all the time, it's meant to spark interest.

They JUST finished filming, so obviously they haven't done much editing; thus, they used old clips and some new scenes (that basically everyone has seen in pap pictures anyway) to create a short teaser.

Plus, "fake" trailers wouldn't be created in HD and put on the official AOL Movies site.

I don't think its fake. It was featured on Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday as an exclusive. They wouldn't have done that if they didn't receive it from the studio.

hey! i completely agree. using the "hello lover" line was absolutely ridiculous as we all know it is from a past episode. also, i don't think the producers would want so much emphasis on carrie twirling in a wedding gown...it is a bit much. also, i'm sure the 'real' trailer would include at least a glimpse of charlotte's pregnancy bump.

i don't think it's necessarily fake...just quickly thrown together from footage that they already have (much of it of outfits that people have already seem in the tabloids) to keep up the hype (now that the craziness over them filming in the city has died down) without giving too much away...i can't stand it when movie trailers give you the whole plot, and you're like "great, so i don't need to go see this now."...this is likely only the first of many more trailers to come

It's not fake. I went to a midnight screening of The Golden Compass last night and this played.

I don't think it's fake. I think they just slapped it together to keep sex and the city in the back of everyones mind.

I'm so bummed that they make it look like she's getting married! It's too much! I hope the rumors are true and its just a dream sequence.

I'm pretty sure it's not fake. but did anyone notice she seems to have at lease two (if not three) different wedding dresses? there's the one in that paparazzi shots where she has the blue/green feather on her head. Then the one in the trailer (or maybe it's the same one, just styled differently) and then there's something that looks like it could be a wedding-style outfit at the end of the trailer that's she's wearing with big pearls and a veil. hmm...
