Stalked Her: The pants! The pants!

Shot Her: Because this is a great reminder that sometimes simple goes a long way, especially if you're going with a strong silhouette. Plus, when it's 10 degrees outside, you're going to shrink away from your black tights and open toed shoes, and need a cocktail outfit that's a little easier for transport.

She Says: "I got these pants at Marc Jacobs in Paris. I didn't mean to buy them but the salesgirl had me try them on and they looked so perfect! But I did have to take them to the tailor. I am very short. The pants were longer than me."

We Say: Go wide. Go long.

Sorry Faran, but your streetwalker is almost never bold or eye catching. Also, YES wide and long, but never with pointy shoes (which are IMO, verboten with very few exceptions) wide and long is cool, but should be paired with boots or "mary-jane" pumps , something that we can actually see instead of the frightening pants ate my shoes situation...

I love the color and texture of the pants and you have an admirable figure. I suspect the saleslady colored your opinion of the pants, as they are not that flattering on you. The last time I was in Paris the saleslady convinced me to buy a yellow cashmere sweater. Oops!

This is nice, but unremarkable.

However, I agree that wide leg pants should be worn with pointy-er shoes rather than round toes, it ends up looking weird. Those are a little too pointy for my taste, but she def has the right idea.
