"Clients were breathless with excitement. 'I want everything - it was made for me,' the actress Diane Kruger said, while Sofia Coppola uttered one joyous word: 'Flats!'" - Suzy Menkes, on the wave of approval at Chanel's S/S '08 couture show, in IHT.

most of it is darling, though not exactly couture...looks more like a ready-to-wear collection to me..

Some good pieces, but others reminded my vaguely of horror stories from the eighties. And the models looked slouchy and made me want to strap a yardstick to their backs.

I saw the flats and thought, "oh, goodness, no"

Was it an exclamation point behind Sofia's "Flats" or an exclamation and question mark? I think it would be the latter.

I thought that a lot of the collection was gorgeous, but I agree with the guest at 1:04, it didn't exactly seem like couture to me. The majority of the models looked really awkward in the pictures on Style.com. I agree with the review, so many of todays young models can't seem to hold their own in Chanel.
