Alexander Wang for UNIQLO?

Tuesday, Jan 22, 2008 / 2:00 PM

flavia in alexander wang.jpgJovovich Hawk and Jonathan Saunders are gearing up for Target collaborations, but we hear UNIQLO might have snagged a new boy toy for themselves:
The hit contemporary designer Alexander Wang.
Rumors are swirling that the fashion cherub is UNIQLO’s next pick, after sold out collections from Phillip Lim and Alexander Plokhov (from Cloak and now Versace) arrived at stores last year.
Of course, all sources are still mum, so we’re considering this a very fun rumor…
For now.
Stay tuned for more Wang reports, as the designer’s second full fashion show debuts for Fall ’08 in two weeks (two weeks!!!).

I think he and UNIQLO would be a perfect fit. I hope the rumor is true. Well, not that it matters to me since I’m far far away from a UNIQLO store. :*(

That’s an amazing rumor, and I hope that it is true, I can’t wait to see what he does with them! He’s so talented and I live for his clothing.. at sample sale prices of course.

seems a little premature to me…he doesn’t exactly have the strongest or most cohesive brand yet…but i guess stores are starting to run low on successful designers willing to do collaborations

Who are you mckeb753 to judge a young designer? You are an immature and jealous fashion student…thats what I think! Grow up and think before you speak.
Do I see mckeb753 collaborating with uniqlo? NO!
Lets see you start a label first…then we will talk. xoxoxo

wow…i think who are you is the better question? i’m a student of fashion business, and i think i have every right to give my opinion and analyze the business decisions of designers if i so choose…blogs are about opinions and alternative viewpoints…open up your mind a little and relax.

Uniqlo doesn’t cease to disappoint. The list of young, trendy designers that large corporations can use for PR is quickly getting shorter. He’s soooo making major money off of this deal though, and apparently thats all that matters. Right?
