"I loved fashion. But I wasn't a very good student...Failed typing, failed draping, you know. I had a little ADD problem. Sewing? Oh, forget it. I burnt my dress. They told me I would never make it as a fashion designer at all." - Donna Karan, on her beginning in fashion at Parsons.

That actually makes me feel a lot better about my first quarter at FIDM. I was terrible at everything! That was years ago, but it still bothers me. Glad I'm not the only one.

As someone who failed draping level 2 twice.. I find that quite inspiring.

I saw her Biography on A&E, and just loved that quote! her boyfriend from parsons said she wasn't a straight A student, which is actually comforting to hear because it proves that academic peformance is far from being crucial in what's going to be your professional career like.
