Did you know John Malkovitch actually knows about fashion?
We sure didn’t, but we’re glad to hear it, especially since his newest project involves the likes of Jodie Kidd, Liberty Ross and Jasmine Guinness.
He’s co-produced a short film with Bella Freud, Biba designer and great grand-daughter of Sigmund. Strap Hanging, will premiere in March at the Birds Eye View festival in London – no word yet on an Oedipal subplot.
Freud claims that Malkovich is actually, “A complete fashion freak, knows everything there is to know about fashion and loves both the silliness and greatness of it.”
Apparently – we hear the film revolves around pair of inflatable underpants (no, really).

He actually has a clothing line, called Uncle Kimono (or used to have it, at least).
He also has/had a menswear line under his own name. Lots of print and button-down shirts. Used to be sold at Browns on South Molton St.
Yes, that line has been around for years at Browns, which is known for carrying lots of recent St. Martins grads.
He also did a video piece for the Fly: Words Remembered” dvd which is like a moving fashion mag from the UK (Karl Lagerfeld was also featured). Malkovich is a snazzy dresser anyway, he def has fashion cred.
