Mean Girls Get Work

angelika1.jpg We're so bored by the Top Model marathon running on VH1 that our thoughts turned to that other posing show, A Model Life, which followed five girls on the Next new faces board through their first six months of stomping and shooting.

We were grateful for the (mostly) real-life look at the modeling business, with most of the show's stars clocking in at sixteen or seventeen years old. And although British cutie Abigail Fox came out on top, the program's resident snarler, Angelika, was booted from the agency only to book more campaigns (so far) than anyone else.

Besides landing as the poster girl for Mike & Chris (our favorite outerwear label, maybe ever), Angelika also booked work with Smashbox Cosmetics and now with Alpine Star, a sportswear company with a two-page ad in Nylon and Seventeen.

The ad stars Angelika, who shoots a glowing glower into the camera that basically says "I'm getting paid to be pretty, and you're not."

Well, yes, that's true, but...

Michelle and Beatrice are both still signed to Next as well. Lucia (now with Elite) has been doing a number of editorials.

I'm so glad, she was my favorite! She wasn't even mean, just not a sniveling kiss-ass. Jeez, why is speaking your mind a BAD thing?

she was one of my favorites on the show. and she wasn't mean (not to the other girls), although she was a bit of a know-it-all
