black skirt bonanza.jpg When Luella's Patti skirt hit the runway last year (on Suvi K.), it immediately made our must-have list.

The only problems:

1. It was $180 (actually not bad for a Luella item, but still).

2. It was very hard to score in the States, unless you camped out for weeks on Net-A-Porter for their sadly small shipment.

3. After it sold out, the Luella website resurrected the skirt sale, but for double the price.

So yesterday in Target, we spotted an Erin Fetherston leftover. It shared the length and the materials (velvet and rayon) as the Luella skirt, but it cost $4.92, which is about our daily Starbucks allowance.

It's not Luella, and that's sigh-worthy, but it was a pretty good compromise and it looks adorable with a thermal, some black tights, and slouchy boots. It's more expensive - $17.50 - on the Target website, but still worth exploring...

I have this skirt! I wore it on Christmas with tights and a 60s vintage cropped houndstooth jacket. It's really cute. Good find!

I tried the cream tiered dress. But I took it back. The cake look didn't work for me.

However, the Erin Featherson dress pants fit really well.

$5?! Good find...
I think it's more versatile than the Luella one, too.

Great find. I got the matching blazer for Christmas (wearing it today) and that skirt would be so cute with it. Time to go to TARGET! woo woo! Thanks for the tip ladies.

wow that's a really good deal. But the clothes fall apart pretty easily as far as I have seen.

I totally disagree with guest @ 10:39. I own one piece from every Go International Design collection from Target, the majority of which I wear very often, and I have not had any pieces "fall apart" or even look heavily worn. So maybe you should back up that broad statement with a fact or an example.

God bless Target.
And thanks to your posts and my insane curiosity, I scored an EF cardigan for $15 - on sale.
(heart)!

I got a couple Erin Fetherston dresses the other day at Target--one of them being the red silk babydoll. Normally goes for $60, but on sale for $15. Not so sure I like it on me, though.

This is a really good example, too, of an "inspired by" item that would never be a copyright violation...

I just wanted to back up the blogger at 10:39, 1/21/08. I have had many things from Target fall apart, including a Mizrahi cashmere sweater, Liz Lange Maternity dress, a pair of mens jeans (dont remember the brand) and several childrens kids.

I picked up the Fetherston "Jacquard Print Bow Jacket" about a month ago... and absolutely love it.

I bought this skirt and 10 other pieces form EF for Traget collection, and ended up returning all of them. Didn't fit right, and was not well made, but then again I guess you get what you pay for.
