Well, I'm good friends with the gals at Urban Decay and I know for a fact that when it comes to beauty shots, they are very strict about no touch ups. If there are any I'm sure it would be minuscule and negligible and they have made a major point about beauty shots being exactly as they are taken with no retouch.

if she had a trust fund, i don't think that'd be a problem. she's freakin' 18. it's socially acceptable for her wealthy parents to support her for at least another two years...
but kudos to her for working for it. reading her blog reveals that she does do that sick-and-twisted model form of 'work' (lucky twat) and does stuff for nylon or whatever hipster mag she works for (vice, paper, whatever...)...
...but her family *is* rich.
maybe they're 'upper middle class' by LA standards, but come on... that means stinking rich to the rest of us.
there's no shame in having a trust fund.
but yeah, she reminds me of myself about six years ago. she don't do it for me.

yikes... - some of you guys are mean! i think the shots look ok but i have seen much better pics of her. i dont think she is made for a beauty campaign - ONLY because of the fact that she looks so much better without it on. and not anything mean!
and people commenting on a trust fund?? she probably earned the money that her parents are living on. so suck on that.

namsterdamus,
Your friends at U.D. might be saying that to you, but I professionally retouch images and I promise you these were blasted out to hell. Especially the bottom one.
All companies retouch in their beauty ads. I highly doubt that U.D. doesn't or has a policy against it.

that's not cory. this is a picture of some scary, airbrushed, hair brushed chick.
cory does not brush her hair.

wow, they washed and colored her hair!!! LOL...The whole schtick with Cory Kennedy is that she is really unique and unpolished, cleaning her up kind of changes everything, and she never ever wore much makeup, let alone makeup like that. Nice to see her working, but she's not 18 yet, is she? And the ad looks too bland for Urban decay... Why did they lighten her hair? it looks awful and just like every second girl you see down the street...they completely washed and colored and styled and photoshopped all the "Cory Kennedy"-ness out of her, how pointless. I mean, she has shampoo commercial hair now, she looks like she's shooting for Pantene...I don't even like Cory, but I'm shocked at what they've done with her look...

I've seen her out & about & around town. It's more about the charisma than anything else. She's very sexy & interesting. Also, it amazes me that a bunch of average looking folks can rip on a very pretty girl for not being pretty enough. It's hilarious, actually, and says a lot about the general self-esteem level of women in America.

Wow. Literally every time I see her I hate her more. It's not about how "pretty" she is or isn't, it's just the fact that she got famous for doing literally nothing. She's idolized by other girls and it just disgusts me that she's always looking cracked out and hungover. Ew.

I don't understand why people hate Cory Kennedy so much.
If you ask me, it's just as silly to hate someone you don't even know as it is to adore them.
I think Cory may be a bit spoiled and a little overdone, but I also think she that she's fresh, quirky, and interesting.
She's a lovely looking girl (though she is certainly photoshopped here) and I'm disappointed in those of you who feel the need to rag on her physical appearance.
She isn't disgusting; but your attitudes certainly are.

I love the sea-blue around her eyes, but on her, but someone had way too much fun with the airbrush button.

Like it or love it, you guys are still talking about it. And a lot of times, thats all that really matters. I'm not sure if I like it, but its a good ad for the previously said reason. Props to UD!

I'm not a Cory fan, but I think these shots are ok. She has an interesting face. As far as the guest poster with 'friends at Urban Decay' goes, I am an art director and I can guarantee you that those shots are retouched. You can see it in the lighting and in the saturation of the tones in the makeup. There is also a perfect evening-grain on her face. Def touched up...
