Rumor Mill: Eye Spy...

Well, it wouldn't be Fashion Week without some zingy gossip, right? Here's today's "omigosh," as emailed from a model manager:

A group of model BFFs all came back to New York from Brazil without the ten pounds they each gained over Christmas, but with something else instead:

Pink eye.

Girls are being triple-checked by makeup artists since eyes are the heavy focus this season, extra Q tips are getting bought in bulk, and there's major paranoia all around -

But it's Fashion Week, so what else is new?

You don't get it from drugs. It's an infection you get in your eye which is highly contagious especially when sharing MAKEUP BRUSHES! That's the source of the panic...

ping eye isn't from drugs... pink eye is contagious but not deadly! it's when the eye becomes pink, swollen and crusty pieces form around it. it's very disgusting! i had it once when i was little.
basically it happens because the eye is infected with something or by something... in my case, it was because i didn't take proper care of my eye contacts. but in the models' cases, it's because the makeup artists are using makeup backstage and makeup is super prone to bacteria... you're suppose to throw away q-tips immediately after use and etc.

i hope those models get better soon - it's a terrible thing to deal with!

hopefully there won't be anymore problems and the makeup artists take proper care of the models' makeup!

Pink eye is not just for models.

I got it when I had my makeup professionally done for a wedding.
It was brutal and took me a week of antibiotic drops (and no makeup)before it cleared up. Yuck.

Guest @10:14 AM is so right, makeup is super prone to bacteria.

If you're even checking makeup out at a store, make sure they use clean applicators.

@Holly: I have trouble with that too! Fashionista, you guys should fix that. Sometimes it looks like you are signed in, and then you go to post and the screen pops up saying that you aren't signed in. Then your post is lost!
