At first I thought she was commenting on Ana Karenina... which in some ways, she is.

Anna Karenina threw herself under a locomotive train and I'm pretty sure she would've been wearing an amazing dress at the time as well. But hurling yourself off a busy beige platform in front of a subway train? Not as glamorous!! I have no interest in ending my own life but if I ever did I would drop all the money I had access to on some crazy incredible gown and then jump off a skyscraper. Hell yeah.
(I'm joking, please don't be offended people.)

How delightfully fabulous! I find it interesting that fashion-types usually say things like this. I say things like this all the time. I agree there are more stylish ways to go. I would want to look amazing even in the end. Trains are not conducive to that.
