Adventures in Copyright: Victoria’s Secret Does LV

In the upcoming Confessions of a Shopaholic, Isla Fisher’s character carries a black and white Stephen Sprouse for Louis Vuitton bag.
We know this because no matter where we go in the city, we can’t escape the set. We’re constantly explaining, “We work there!” or “We live there!” to get past the pushy clipboard holders hollering for us to get off the sidewalk.
A good friend happened to snatch a bit part in the film the other day, after which she sent this picture from Victoria’s Secret with the subject, “Look! They’ve already ripped off Isla’s bag!”
Victoria’s Secret poor, but blatant rip-off will probably be the first of many to come. But we hope that instead of an influx of fakes, everyone breaks out their original Stephen Sprouse bags because really, they’re the brightest, most fun status bags ever.

Oh my gosh! This is not the first time VS is ripping others off. I’ve seen a few of their frillys look a lot like Agent Provocateur’s.
Like I’ve have said in an earlier post, is this anything new?
Well, that took them a while. What’s next, someones gonna ripoff something from Marc’s grunge perry ellis collection?
Haha LV did those on their speedy bags like 5 or 6 years ago.. same camo colors.. and only lasted one season lol
i saw this recently in VS and was appalled. i almost yelled at one of the shop girls, but knowing they have nothing to do with such poor design decisions i instead stood there pointing with my mouth wide open. they looked at me understandingly. outrage.

ummm, VS has had these for a while now. Like years. all the girls at my high school toted them around
Oh I always wanted one of those Sprouse LVs. I kind of thought I could get a cast-off on Ebay after all the fuss had died down but it never happened.
The bag shown is def a fake. The Stephen Sprouse bag does not have Paris written on the bag – it just says Louis Vuitton on the side. On the bottom it says Louis Vuitton LV Paris. I know this because I own the bag. I am surprised Victoria’s Secret even knows about the LV bag – stranger things have happened.
i hate victorias secret. theyre only good for bras. for clothes and everything else – they suck hugely.
