Agyness On the Cover of Time!

agyness cover time.jpgLet’s count, shall we?

1. Her own t-shirt.

2. A Mulberry bag.

3. Countless runways.

4. Countless editorials.

5. Gigs with Giorgio Armani, Burberry, et al.

6. Her own mannequin.

7. House of Holland muse.

8. And now, a cover for Time!

Ok- Time: Style & Design, but still, Time nonetheless.

We love Agyness, but… Woah, you know?

I love how Perez Hilton manages to have "called" that Agyness was "going to become big this year."

Grrr.

Am I the only one who doesn't see what all the fuss is about Agyness? I mean she's pretty and all...but is not an earth-shattering good model. Also she has a really annoying and pretentious fake name.

I love Agyness, probably more than the next girl, maybe even more considering I'm British! But there is just one thing that irks me!!! Is she 22 or is she really 25, like some people - fashionista included - claim? Whilst age should not matter, I think honesty should! Agyness should be proud of what she has achieved, no matter what age she is. I mean the name change was genius especially the one she chose for herself but that doesn't mean she should change everything once true about her. I don't know. Am I being picky? Fashionista, you should know her true age - weren't you at her birthday party?????

I don't know what it is with our current state of being, that we feel the need to assiduously OVEREXPOSE everything and everyone.

The sad thing is, I actually do think she is a very beautiful model. Her face has a sogne milkfed healthiness which I find very refreshing, and I think her hair is pretty. But she is so one note. And so much success all at once will either stunt one's growth, annoy one's audience, or both.

Lets not act like modelling has longevity. Let the girl make her paper while she can. You KNOW you would too if you were in her position.

Oh, and I hate hate hate her pseudonym: Agyness Deyn. I get a kneejerk reaction every time I see it, kind of the way I feel vaguely nauseous whenever George W. Bush is on the TV or radio.

I mean, if you're going to invent yourself a name because you find your birth one dull, and if you're gonna spell it in an unconventional fashion, at least show a surface understanding of phonics' basic tenets.

1. can you say overexposure much?
2. totally with you girls on the perez hilton thing! SO lame.
3. i get this sort of cognitive dissonance-ish feeling when i think of agyness because to one crowd, she's SO 2007, but ask the mainstream media and she's the Big Thing Of 2008 ... i can't make heads or tails of it all ...

That's funny, she's always reminded me of Edie Sedgwick too. So I'm not the only one.

Oh please! Kate Moss, that's overexposure. Give Aggie her credit. The rest of the world is only getting to know this girl. Let's hope she doesn't let us down and finally gives a supermodel girls can look up too. It's been too long.

Puhlease.

When is this going to stop? Why are walking coat hangers the new role models? Really? They can snort their snow and strut their overpaid skeletons in Swalbard, for all I care.

Bring back role models who actually think and DO something!

I, too, dislike the pretenious fake name and am annoyed by the fact that she continually subtracts 2 years from her real age.
Also, I hate that the ignorant "queen of all media" credits himself with having discovered her/caused her to become "the next big thing."
Finally, Ward and Pivovarova are my types of girls, probably because they're so eerie-looking and my polar opposite, beauty-wise.
And oh, Laura Hollins's fashion sense? Not so hot, unless your personal fashion icons are Boy Geaorge and Robert Smith.
