An Open Letter to Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth in Gucci Dear Gwyneth,


We know you’re busy being a mom and an actress and all that other worthy, perfect-life stuff, but do you think you could also open a dress clinic for young starlets? Because the dress you wore to the Gucci party could certainly teach some of these girls (cough, Lindsay, cough) what a real movie star looks like.

The thing that’s nice is, you don’t just look famous and beautiful -

You also look really modern and sexy.

The way you went with a shorter dress instead of something floor-length is really perfect, and the bare part of your shoulder is the right slice of hot without any edge of slut.

We hope someone besides us is taking notes -

After all, we’re not the ones who can afford that dress.

Dammit.

ugh, gwyneth paltrow is SO over rated. Shes not even all that of an actress.
i think lindsay is a great dresser... and a better actress at that.

Gwenyth paltrow is an incredible actress and has such a great sense of style. It's been a while since the last pink dress I can remember, but she rocked the best dress i've seen in a while

I don't know, the big bow kind of looks a little Carrie Bradshaw 2003. But no denying, Gwenyth could wear a burlap sack and still look alright.

Seriously? I agree ModestoT. Gwynnie is so late 90s and completely overrated. Does she even, you know, act anymore? Like Ms. Jackson said, "What have you done for me lately?" -the DCGF

I love the colors. Dusty pink and pale lavender. But the dress doesn't look like a big deal to me. And maybe it's the angle of the camera - the whole proportion is a bit awkward. It's as if she has too narrow shoulders for her head, the dress is too short, etc. Just doesn't wow me.

I like Paltrow. I think the best thing she's doing here--and the thing I wish she'd teach the rest of Hollywood--is that if you want long hair, sometimes you simply have to...grow it out. It's so refreshing to see someone with a full head of hair that isn't yellow, synthetic and poorly installed.

Also, Lyndsay is ten years younger than Paltrow, but looks easily that much older.

But please note that Gwyneth has, like many runway models, a clothes hanger body. She doesn't have curves like Lindsey Lohan. Not that having Gwyneth's body type instantly makes for a tasteful and elegant appearance. But just imagine how much sluttier Paris Hilton would look in clothes if she were voluptuous like Lohan.
