Costello Tagliapietra

COSTELLO.JPGWe ended up smack in the middle of the Vogue clique again at Costello Tagliapietra yesterday.

We stared at Leigh Lezark's pink and black lace dress, but listened to Meredith Melling Burke tell Kathryn Neale Shaffer that she has to root for the Patriots, "I'm from Boston!" she explained.

Superbowl talk?

There couldn't have been a subject more irrelevant to the ladylike clothes Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra sent down the runway. The boys stuck to a monochromatic palette, experimenting with contrasting fabrics and textures instead, showing ombre skirts and heathered jersey layers.

Almost every model's head was topped with a floppy Minnie Mouse bow (how Blair,) that would make anyone giggle off the runway and that contrasted with the elbow length gloves and the otherwise vampy theme.

The show opened with Under Pressure, which elicited a giggle from the crowd, but hopefully the designers relaxed after hearing the oohs and ahhs throughout their show and witnessing a much deserved standing ovation.

These pictures are gorgeous. There is something so sophisticated yet cool about their designs. Really breath-taking.
