Posh Dress Crashes Intermix Server!

posh dress.jpg Who knew Victoria Beckham could actually move clothes?

Last season, she deigned to wear an Herve Leger dress to the Marc Jacobs show, but Marc didn’t seem to mind since he cast the Soccer Mom in his latest ad campaign (next season, Kate Moss? We’re still waiting).

Anyway, now the Posh Dress has finally hit stores, and it seems to have caused an internet shopping frenzy.

Despite retailing for $1375, the bandage gown has essentially crashed the Intermix server - click on the dress, and get a lot of maddening code instead of an easy way to buy it.

One more observation: The dress sells for $25 more than any other Leger dress, despite the fact that it’s got the same construction as all the others.

$25 seems trifling in the face of $1300, but still - we can’t help wondering whether the Posh effect has boosted the price for everyone.

haha! I love that dress, but it looks really hard to pull off. It looks great on Posh, because she's a twig, it looks great on the mannequin, but I think very few people could look good in this dress.

There is no way in hell this dress could look as good on the average person. Mrs.Beckham rocks it because she has a little body with right porprotions, so unless you are her size or a Supermodel its a no,no.

But still i am not surprised it sold out, because she has a devoted fanbase of women who love her style. There are Kate Moss(rock and roll chic),Sienna Miller(boho funky) and there is VB who caters to women with more polished sexy styles.

She wore croc Giambattista Valli platforms last year and a day after there was a frenzy, all sold out.

But the price boost is shameless!

Love Vicki! She was invited to the Herve Leger show, but sadly didn't attend. I was really hurt by her actions... She was the only one i was looking forward to stalking. haha

I don't think your typical Intermix shopper has an "average person" body.

Ah, but part of the magic of these dresses is that they are a lot more flattering than you think they would be...for example, Mandy Moore is not a size zero (yet still not exactly an average person, granted) and managed to pull one off...

Implants certainly do not help the 'cheapening' aspect of the super-tight 80's streetwalker look.

I tried on a few bandage dresses at Intermix and as a sz 0 and younger than VB I still felt ridiculous. Just too 'obvious'. As much as I'm addicted to skin-tight clothes, only Dolce & Gabbana does it glam. Everyone else verges on trashy.
