So You Wanna Look Like Amy?

Feb 26, 2008 @ 12:30pm

winehouse.jpgThoughts on Amy Winehouse producing her own fashion and make-up line:

1. There are some people - Vivienne Westwood, Mary-Kate Olsen, Anna Wintour, in this case Amy Winehouse - that we love to look at, but don't actually want to look like.

2. We could maybe like the clothes, even though we're pretty sure we can buy them now at H&M. But make-up? Seriously?

3. As intern Brett so eloquently asked, "What is it with famous girls thinking they can try out whatever 'career' they want?"

4. The line will apparently include hairspray. Will it come with an instruction manual on beehive styling, too?

Can't wait.

I agree with Brett. Famous people are always switching occupations as if they're super heroes. Although, it is partially all of our fault for buying into it. I generally do not fall for celebrity clothing lines unless I really REALLY like the clothing. Why should I make them richer? Let the designers design, and the singers sing, etc.

Do celebrities actually do the designing? Or do they merely approve the original work of a 'ghost' designer?

I really wish celebs leave the designing to those who've studied.
Except maybe for Gwen, whose style I loved even before she began L.A.M.B.
