Ebates is awesome.jpgWhat kind of friends would we be without letting you in on some of our coolest finds?

When Jazzi told us she’s been using a website called Ebates to get paid for shopping online, we were like, “Whatever” but after hearing her out, we thought, “Woah! this could really add up.” If you’ve heard of it, you love it, and if you haven’t, allow us to explain:

1. It’s basically a shopping savings account that very simply gives you back money for shopping. Most websites make money for referring you, but Ebates just shares the wealth.

2. All you have to do is sign up (10 seconds max), then shop directly at some of your favorite stores through a link on the Ebates website.

The hardest part is remembering to go through the Ebates when you feel like shopping, but they even have a “reminder tool” for that, so we’ve got zero complaints. And the perks? Well, money for shopping and referring friends, no spam, a lot of shopping options (sorry, no Net-a-Porter), plus you get a $10 gift card just for signing up. And the best part? More shopping, less guilt.

So if you feel like shopping on the likes of Nordstrom, Shopbop, Bloomingdale’s, Old Navy, Saks, Target, Zappos, Bluefly and YOOX - to name a few - at least make some cash doing it for, you know, more shopping.

We seriously just made $39.00 on some relatively small purchases we would have made anyway. Maybe it really is magic…

for all of you procrastinators (like me! ha) use ebates and get 5% back for purchasing turbo tax online, not too shabby.

Lucky mag has it too if you are a subscriber. I have gotten about 500.00 back total since I signed up about 2 yrs ago. They actually send a debit card to use when you shop that's embedded with the $. I have my whole family doing it when they shop too to share the wealth!

Oh man, if you add up the money I've gotten back from ebates and luckymagrewards in the last year it seriously comes to the cost of my (admittedly cheap because I am in Pittsburgh) rent! It really adds up quickly if you shop online too much like I do.

Not to be rude or anything but everyone, poster and commentors, sound like they are on an infommercial.

I suppose Ebates can now pick up all the dirt and soda I spilt on my hardwood floors and make a three egg omelette in 5 minutes.

Just set it and Forget it!

Still, sounds worth checking out...

for the places that have brick and mortar stores, do you get enough cash back that it's worth it to pay for shipping when you shop online instead of just going and picking it up yourself?

Neat! I just signed up. I wish I knew about this a couple of days ago when I went on an online shopping spree. I could use some extra bucks.

Careful. Ebates sneakily charges your credit card every month and it's about as easy to leave as AOL. It's pretty much the same deal as Web Loyalty and Reservation Rewards. Do a simple Google search to see what I am talking about!

Guest @ 2:54

did a simple google search... found nada to support your claim. i've been using ebates for months and months, they've never charged anything.

just read the website and privacy statement.

ebates doesn't even ask for your credit card info!!!

i don't buy that they charge your credit card, it's just not true. the only thing is, there are some privacy issues, and they've been sued for privacy violations.

I signed up a long time ago, and ended up with tons of spyware on my computer that slowed it down to a crawl. It took me forever to wipe websavingsfromebates.exe from my computer, it kept coming back and reinstalling itself.
