DIY: Iceberg, As Cheap as the Lettuce

Mar 11, 2008 @ 3:01pm

iceberg necklace.jpgA chunky fire engine red scarf/necklace catwalked down the runway for Iceberg Fall 2008.

We fell in love immediately, but we also realized we could make about a dozen in various colors, lengths, and knots, all for about the same price as the original. So we decided to try it out - and maybe in the future we'll go for some more complicated knots (ones from our day camp lanyard making days)...

What You'll Need:

- 2 Yards of Cotton Jersey, about $16 at Mood
- Scissors

Um... that's it.

That skirt is mega cute. And what's with the shiny sleeve/gauntlet? I must see more!

Sorry to be the bearer or bad news but, my skirt is from H&M a few seasons ago :(

and the sleeve of my shirt is really nothing fancy. Just my favorite paint splattered thermal with a thumb hole.

LOVE LOVE LOVE.

But why pay $16 at Mood when you can pay $7 at Jo-Ann's?

there are no jo anns in NYC? and in my experience, their fabrics are cheap for a reason, the rolls aren't as wide, and then you would have to get way more yardage... therefore, not cheaper at all.
