Lauren Bush In the Salad Aisle

lauren bush and her feed bag.jpgAre you sick of "green fashion" yet?

If not, you may want to breeze through Whole Foods, where Lauren Bush's famous line of FEED 100 bags go on sale starting May 1.

The bags cost $29.99 and can carry all of your groceries, your gym clothes, or even your Barneys purchases, and all proceeds go to the UN's World Food Program.

This isn't the first time Whole Food's been in the eco-bag business:

Last year, the store famously rolled out the $15 Anya Hindmarch bags, which sold out in roughly 90 minutes.

We think the whole thing is pretty admirable, and encourage you to save up for one of the totes if you haven't already got something sustainable to replace plastic grocery bags -

Though if you read this blog, you obviously already do!

envirosax.com best reusable bags ever. They roll up and snap really small and are absolutely adorable.

Funny coming from one of the counrty's richest and most powerful oil families who's uncle has terrible enviromental and humanitarian policies. Sometimes irony starts at home.

We all have putrid family members. It seems admirable that she hasn't followed their example and instead is making her own strides in philanthropy and activism. There's no shame in that.

ashley how do you know that?

and this isn't a political blog, so let's be civil and stay out of politics on here (there are many great political blogs you can participate in if you so feel the need to bash the president)

and one more thing, even if they are just doing it to be trendy, the fact is they are doing something to reduce carbon emissions regardless of intent. So I say bring it on.

oh geez, being in the oil industry doesn't necessarily mean you're evil. derivatives of oil are in everything we own.
anyhow, on the subject of eco bags, i think those 99 cent ones that you now see at every grocery store are cute, durable, practical...oh and CHEAP! Target's and Sprouts' are the best-colored, imo.

I'm sorry but green fashion is so a trend. . .a good trend but a trend none-the-less. A trend that I hope last for years and years (for the sake of this planet and our grandchildren). That being said, I would absolutely faint if I ever saw someone using that Anya tote to put their groceries in. I may not be in New York anymore, but I have yet to see it. Plain and simple. Which makes it a T-R-E-N-D. It's great that everyone's all gun ho about green fashion but let's call it was it is. . .

I'm sure Lauren Bush has a fur coat stashed some where in the back of her closet that she's put on hold. (unlike these people: http://fannypackantics.com/2008/03/19/creepy-fur-platinum-hair-ugh/

And people are free to say what they want about our president on whatever blog they choose. It is, afterall her last name. Now, it's not exactly fair to lump her in "that" category but I still think it's great to hear people voicing their opinions.

I wasn't talking about you, Ashley. Sorry that was confusing. I just wanted to ask you the part A of the comment. If that makes sense :?

And I love hearing differing opinions as well, that's why I participate in political blogs, I just think there's a time and a place. Obviously you can say what you want whenever you want (God bless America, for that!) but I just didn't want this thread to turn into an all-out bush-bashing since it really isn't even about him.

ugh, if it weren't that I put more money to a good cause, I'd be pretty upset that I spent $59.95 on it off Amazon back in June.

But I would still recommend everyone buy it, I have used it almost every day since then, it lugs around all of my books very nicely, receives daily compliments and actually makes you feel good about spending money.
