Lauren Conrad’s Nails: Clean + Clear

Lauren Conrad and her clothes.jpgand now, a note from Faran…

Lauren Conrad came to visit the NYLON office this week, and I swore I would mop the floors all month just to get in the meeting.

She was very nice, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about her clothing line, and unbelievably pretty in person. She was also so social that I wondered if she’d ever done anything more fun than go to a party - when we mentioned two big NYLON events coming up, her eyes got huge like she’d just been given some free Chanel shoes.

Actually, she was wearing Chanel shoes, little flats; they were kind of amazing.

Anyway, we took a bunch of photos of her Fall ‘08 clothes, but I also paid particular attention to her nails. It’s no secret that at the Fashionista office, we’ve always claimed (and only half as a joke) that whatever Lauren did with her fingers, every girl in America would do later.

For about two years, she’s clung to Chanel’s Black Satin varnish, but this week, it was something different: Totally clear with nothing else.

For those who care, even secretly, I’ve attached a close-up below.

I saw her out in a club a few months back and she seemed kind of shy. Anyway, yeah... extremely beautiful in person! Interesting observation about the nails... I'd feel naked without polish myself.

Yeah Everyone who has met her always said the same thing that she is really pretty and skinnier in person. I love that LC has her own style and does not play to every trend out there but she can be a bit more creative with her line and the guys she dates. I hope to see her and Whitney on the cover of Nylon dress up like we have never seen them that would be interesting.

i've always thought that she might be a little more interesting if she just got new hair and a different look. she always reminds me of the cheerleaders at my old high school. she's got good looks to work with, she just never does anything interesting with any of it.

"she always reminds me of the cheerleaders at my old high school."

sarah, you've just put in words so plainly what I've never been able to articulate.

Lauren comes off as very uptight & unsure. She also doesn't have "IT" in the looks/style department to me. She'd better get her money while the gettin' is good, don't think it'll last long.

oh my god. you CANNOT be serious. LAME LAME LAME. her clothes are boring boring boring (and not in a good way like jill sander) if nylon actually does a piece on her it's over. i will have completely lost all faith in them.

I really hope Nylon does a piece on lauren and her clothing line. Just because she is trying to sell classy, simple and chic but not bogged down with every trend does not mean she is not stylish. Style is not limited only the kate moss of the world. Nylon would gain more fans than those that would cut ties with the magazine.
