Calves are the new triceps. Look at Michael Bastian's shorts. :)

There was an article in the New York Times about wearing shorts to work last year (I think)

I don't know though...I have a feeling alot of guys would wear it with white socks or somthing.

I've never seen this look outside of Bermuda, where guys in shorts while wearing a shirt and tie are a common sight.

Funny enough, I was looking through the archives on The Sartorialist yesterday where he posed the question of proper shorts length on men. I must say that I would love to see a classy, well put-together man in shorts that are not sloppy, baggy, cargo, from Abercrombie (or some facsimile of such), or any combination thereof.

The above look as a whole, though, would be hard to pull off for a non fashion-conscious man. I live in Florida, and shorts are inevitably paired with either flip-flops that have seen better days or top-siders. This type of look should be a welcome alternative for dressing nice when it's 100 degrees in April here.

I think it could work, but with a great loafer. I guess you have to have the look. It wouldnt work so much on a heavier man.

To guest @3:09: you're right about the NYTimes article last year.
I think it was Thom Browne who showed them.

I fear that some will try to get away with the shorts and (ugh) black trouser socks.

The only thing that has stopped me from wearing "dress shorts" to the office since last spring is having to wear loafers or oxford shoes without socks. The bare ankle Thom Browne look has also been in the back of my mind for the past year. I don't know how they handle it. It's brutal. I must have really sensitive ankles.

Wow, i was all for it until i noticed the lower half of the screen. That would probably look cuter on a female.

I believe the shorts are fine. Now, the plaid shirt on the other hand...

i think they'll look great only if you have perfect calves!

i love it!...agreed, nice calves ad a trim waist don't hurt...though the oxford shoes without socks definitely will (unless they are like the beautiful bottega ones i saw last spring that are lined with canvas and designed to be worn that way...sigh!)...i don't think it's great for work necessarily, but in the right situation, i love it

I'm on my way to Lord & Taylor to see if they are selling these shorts yet! I'd love to see the rest of this Men's catalog. Anybody have any ideas on how I would get my hands on the book this came from so that I can order the shorts? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated...

I don't like the whole ensemble together. And those shorts remind me of the frat boys on campus in their Polo shorts and Lacoste shirts. What office would you wear it anyway?
