"She didn't really have the sense of how to do things: she wanted stuff to fall on top of her and into her lap...I don't know how she'll do, I mean, I wouldn't hire her, but she could grow." - Kelly Cutrone, on Lauren Conrad's performance on The Hills, to Faran when she was at The Daily, in May 2006.

I have a love hate relationship with this show and find this comment to be pretty funny. Lauren is just like a lot of Gen Yers out there though. We (Gen Y) expect things to be handed to us...as our parents have done so in the past.
Ew. I just realized I was sticking up for her.

Funny that was only a couple of years ago- and now Kelly is trying to send Lauren Jeremy Scott and Herchcovitch.

Every time I see a picture of Lauren Conrad it boggles my mind as to WHY people are obessed with her. I hate her fashion sense; I have never seen her wear anything that didn't look like a bedsheet tied sloppy and draped awkwardly around her body, and despite being a rep for a makeup line (Mark) I always want to add a little blush, a little gloss, eyeshadow... a little SOMETHING special to that girl.... Hearing Lauren Conrad and fashion in the same sentence always makes me giggle-- and not necessarily in a GOOD way....

I'm with flizzers: Why? Just, why?
She's the celebrity equivalent of overcooked oatmeal.

Big fat LOL to RayBay's comment!
In response to flizzer's comment..I think she appeals to the masses. I have a friend who isn't so fashion savvy as many who read this blog, and she was telling me how much she loves Lauren's style. I didn't want to be mean and respond with, "what style!?" so I listened instead. She said she loved how cute, simple and put together she is. Her look is so easily accessible and thats what girls want. They want to see a famous someone on TV and know that they can attain what they are wearing.

Why can girls just be themselves? Its good to have positive role models and there is nothing wrong with having a style icon, but why would a girl want to emulate someone so boring?? Lauren cant even find it within herself to have her own sense of style.Even with a chance to have clothing line with her name on it she doesnt have it in her to take chances.

Preach! I was there and It wasn't pretty how inept LC was during LA fashion week. She had no clue and mostly just got in the way (as did the annoying MTV camera crew) You guys will see the episode though. I'm sure it speaks for itself.
Peace, Gee-ven-chee xo

Yikes, shouldn't 15-year-olds be experimenting and having fun with their style while they're young? Instead of aspiring to this kind of boring sh1t?
