New Navy

oldnavy.jpg“So are you like obsessed with Old Navy now?” Brett just asked me.

Well, yeah.

I’m still loving my life-changing wooden platforms and now I’m even looking forward to their clothes.

We previewed their Spring/Summer collection last night: It’s kind of tough, kind of girly, and actually kind of chic. The fabrics even felt really nice.

The mini denim shorts, sequin tanks, slick black trench coats and sheer metal cardigans hit stores in June accompanied by subtly studded sandals.

The red, ruffly dress and perfectly high-waisted floral skirt should be in stores right in time for the Fourth of July.

The only problem? We really want it all now.

Check out some choice pieces after the jump.

i know...i went there recently, and even their spring stuff was nice! like, i usually just go there for the basics, but i ended up leaving the store with a few really stylish pieces. and, when i saw the shoes, i almost freaked out and had a total "omg, fashionista" moment!

Is that a skirt to the right of the trench? The print on it is a complete rip-off of the wicker print Vena Cava did last fall!

I like the sandals....The clothes, an improvement but kind of eh....Now they need to take their men's department into the new century. It's like 2 completely different stores.

I got those life changing sandals and I have to admit, I love them as much as you do! I am also holding out for those studded sandals . . . so gorgeous. In further news, read an article on AOL today stating that Old Navy might be shutting down if their sales don't go up. Made me sad. There goes my cheap shoe collection!

Have you seen this?

Looks like Old Navy could be going out of business...

The studded tee looks like something from the women's discount store in the strip mall next to Wal-Mart, the one that sells mumuu-suits in primary colors. And the floral pattern on that skirt is so very mid-90's, it makes my skin crawl.

The dress and sandals are really nice, though.

here's some advice - don't believe everything you read. They also said a few other companies would bust/disappear this year that I have a hard time even imagining (maybe in 5-10 years, but in 2008?!)

Ok, I went into Old Navy and WOW! I walked out with 2 bags of clothes for me, including the last pair of the "life changing platforms." Good things are going on in there. They were totally on the whole safari trend and had some cute sundresses. I also bought a yummy candle and diffuser...who knew?! Well done Old Navy, well done.

I don't know.. Last time i was in Old Navy (like 3 weeks ago), they had the most hideous, eye-burning floral prints.
