The April issue of W Magazine features a 60 page photo essay on New Orleans shot by Bruce Weber.

We're dying to see the whole spread - but we'll have to make do with this adorable video of Karen Elson swaying to Louisiana jazz in a very vintage living room.

The video's called "Karen's Boogie"; in it, she gracefully dances in the highest, most beautiful heels like only a supermodel can.

If we could only look this cool dancing around our apartment.

That's right about open armed people. I'm one of them, come on down to N'awlins and we'll show you a good time - super high heels are not - and we dance like that (or better) all night long. Thanks for featuring this and hopefully some of you fashionistas will take a trip down to n.o. to see what you've been missing all your life.

I imagine the blond woman will be Mary-Kate Olsen in about fifty years.

I'm seriously going to be in N'awlins this weekend... it's my first time in my quarter century on this earth, and I'm so ecstatic! It's ironic this posted today:)

Ironic in the sense that it posted today and I'm going to be there this weekend. I think that fits the sense of irony, at least in my strange world. Probably not ironic to you or the rest of the general populace, but it still displays the major tenets of irony to me. Oh well. If you don't get it, nevermind.

Thanks, Syako! I'm going with my boyfriend to visit his parents, and I think they have plans for us the whole time... but I'm a total foodie, and I'd love great suggestions on restaurants!

Ok. Go to Cochon - it's in the Warehouse district. Voted by NY Times as the number 3 best new restaurant. Amazing. (try the fried alligator, it's like nothing you've ever tasted that was friend before, I swear).

You'll want to try the standards too like Commander's Palace and Ralph's on the Park. If you're in the quarter check out the Napoleon House (Napoleon himself is rumored to have stayed at that house when he was in exile). A lot of history there.

Saturday morning you HAVE to go to jazz brunch at the Court of Two Sisters (make reservations). Best. Brunch. Ever. It's set up buffet style, but the buffet has everything from turtle soup to duck a l'orange and of course king cake (even though it's technically not mardi gras season).

Did you bf grow up in N.O?

Awww, you're awesome!!! I'm so excited :)

His dad's job transferred him there several years ago from Tennessee, and my bf has never lived there. I'm definitely going to do the brunch, if at all possible! It sounds wonderful! If I don't make it to all the places I'd like to go, that just means I get to make another trip down there, hehe
