The Daisy Chain

Faran just got back from London, where she reports that girls have thinned out their Irina-Lazareanu bangs of last year, turning their blunt and long bowl cuts into something shaggier, thinner, and more shredded.

In short, all the girls are now copying the haircut of Daisy Lowe - meanwhile, all the gay boys are copying the haircut of Agyness Deyn, and have even been dubbed “The Ag Hags” by Grazia Magazine. Amazing.

But while mimicking Agyness is understandable, the rumble for Daisy is slightly stranger:

She’s not quite famous, not so visible, and generally more under the radar.

Of course, that seems about to change:

We hear that Daisy has indeed clinched a campaign spot with Burberry, although those rumors might stem from her recent appearance at the Teen Vogue / Burberry Brit party in their Soho store -

Ms. Lowe was recruited by Amy Astley to host the event, though for her part, Astley didn’t change her trademark bob to show her admiration of Teen Vogue’s latest muse.

first you make a false causal connection and then you call that connection "strange" - doye, it's not Daisy's influence in the first place. lots of people have blunt bangs, lots of people have wispier bangs, and no amount of overwrought "trendspotting" changes the fact.

Daisy Lowe's haircut was copy of Irina's and what was going on a couple of years ago. I really doubt anyone is copying her. And why is this girl famous - because she hangs out with famous people and has some famous parents. It has nothing to do with her it factor. She is a terrible runway model as well.

Erm, I don't think people are growing their hair to mimic Daisy Lowe, long hair with a fringe is just a general trend at the moment. Even the entire cast of Hollyoaks seems to have cut a fringe in the past 6 months. Daisy is quite visible though, she's always features in the fashion weeklies/monthlies and she did an ad campaign for Agent Provocateur.

yay for grazia - the best fashion magazine apart from vogue, and a bloody sight cheaper as well.
