Victoria Beckham for Roland Mouret?!

Posh in Roland.jpg Well, once you’ve faked an orgasm in a Marc Jacobs shopping bag, there isn’t much left, is there?

Victoria Beckham says sure.

She’s already announced two new ready-to-wear lines in her name (one denim, one dresses) and now rumors swirl from London that Posh has yet another fashion plan in her playbook:

Guest-designing a line for Roland Mouret.

It sounds totally fine and cool to us except for one thing:

Roland Mouret’s clothes were put on the map because of their affinity for a woman’s real shape - his drapes and folds and hugs actually made a girl look sexy, not slouchy, and his most famous mannequin is the very healthy sex bomb Scarlett Johansson, with Dita Von Teese a close and corseted second place.

Posh knows a lot about gloss and glitter, and she’s got a hell of a sense of humor, but understanding what kind of dress hits a “normal” woman’s hips?

Our faith is flickering.

Sure thing, because you can only design for the type of body you have, right? Ask all the men designers how they do it, I'm sure the collection will be majah.

I hear what you guys are saying. . . you can design for more than just your body type, but when a designer picks a "collaborator", it's kind of like saying "this is my muse, this is who should wear the clothing". So, Posh is kind of a wild card for Roland to go with. Am I the only person that thinks the dress and the bulky matching Birkin bag is really over the top for a sporting event?

In my opinion ... the pairing is more aspirational than literal. People think Victoria is fabulous and they want to look like her. It's not always about what the muse looks like but often how the muse makes people feel or what the muse makes people desire.

its quite possible, and probably likely.

Simon Fuller, who is the Beckham's manager, is also a backer for Roland Mouret's new RIM line... and Simon Fuller is quite good at cross promotion.

^^Exactly its all about marketing and Victoria has prooven time and time again she has a very strong "fan" base of women who do like how she dresses and will follow suit.

It might be good or not,we will see but i wish them both the best, and definietly dont see why her body shape should be brought in discussion about her credentials.

And yes that outfit is OTT but thats whats great about Mrs.Beckham the girl goes all out and has fun.I will take her over rehab comitted, drug loving, crotch flashing and DUI offenders that run wild among todays famous women, any day!
