We've always associated wingtips, oxfords, spectators, and loafers, with men, and maybe poodle skirts.
Until recently, that is. Not long ago, we started seeing "inspired by men's shoes" all over the place, mostly in the form of a lace-up oxford, and always with a heel.
Now, both on the runway and on the street, we're seeing girls in actual men's shoes paired with feminine dresses.
They're a kind of sleek and sophisticated look without being too rough or too hard to pull off, and make us want to use words like "dapper," "dandy" and "the bees knees".
But since we've only found a few that are made in women's sizes, we may have to take to the Boy's shoe department to get exactly what we're after...
