Fashion Is Fun

10 Questions for The Hills

Lauren Conrad in MaximFirst Episode

10. Why do they keep saying “Kelly Cutrone” and not “People’s Revolution?”

9. Can we end a segment with something besides Don’t Funk With My Heart? Please?

8. Did Crystal Meers just get a shout out on The Hills? What?!

7. Side note here: See Mike, that boy in People’s Rev’s L.A. office? Mike = crushworthy. Trust me, you guys are going to want to kiss that boy. Let’s hope he gets a lot of camera time.

6. Did Whitney learn some PR skills at Conde Nast? Saying Vogue instead of Teen Vogue during her interview?

5. *What’s a “work aesthetic”?

4. How much attention does Stephanie need? Yikes.

3. Hey Heidi, remember that episode of Friends where Ross and Rachel have a fight about whether or not they were on break? Yeah… don’t do that.

2. Does Brody look like Matthew Fox at the end of Party of Five?

1. Is Frankie America’s most famous wing man?

Episode Two

10. Is Donna Karan’s stepsister a teacher at FIDM?

9. Will People’s Rev be good for Whitney’s personal style?

8. How much did Hills producers bribe FIDM to put Lauren and Stephanie in the same class?

7. How scary / good is Stephanie at being nice (“nice”)?

6. “Your voice is meaningful” ?

5. Heidi, you’re painting your apartment in an Ella Moss cardigan? That’s like $150!

4. “What’s the girl going to do to me?” - oh Lauren, do you really want to ask that?

3. Stephanie + Spencer = Pinky and the Brain? Or the evil bro and sister from High School Musical?

2. Raise your hand if speaking to Stephanie, ever, is a bad idea?

1. Is Lauren’s life really so boring that she needs to resurrect this feud? Or does she deep down still love Heidi and want to be friends with her? And can this be figured out without the help of a therapist?

Love these questions - keep 'em coming. I kinda feel like nothing happened in either episode though.

I missed last weeks premiere, so I had two hours of The Hills last night! Love the questions. My favorite was #6 for episode two. What did that even mean? I hope we get to see more of Kimball. Talk about dreamy in that waxy too-skinny way. :) I was really wondering too how MTV got FIDM to put them in the same class. I am not sure if we even knew if Steph was even in school before that.

All i really wanted was Stehanie's ear to stop poking out of her hair in the last scene.

i sometimes get carried away and give the same reactions to it, in terms of the break, stephanie talking etc... however they all know that's what will make the audience watch. spencer and heidi and she-pratt knows they are boring when there's no drama. and with lauren, i think i am now more excited to see whitney and what she is doing. I wonder if they will now show lauren at teen vogue. they never showed her do anything when whitney was not around. good scripting hills, very good scripting...

She said "work ETHIC", you just misheard her

And I read a really interesting article about how a year ago Kelly Cutrone said Lauren Conrad was a bad intern who no initiative and she would never hire her. But she doesn't mind using her show for publicity obviously...

She most certainly said "work aesthetic" because she isn't the brightest beacon in the bay. But we love her. I am definitely more excited to see her segments than Lauren's. Also, how did I miss cute boy in LA office? I'll just have to catch one of the 495748956 million reruns this week.

Heh. The HSM analogy about the evil brother and sister is awesome and dead on.

What was up with Kelly Cutrone and Whitney hugging after the Sass and Bide show? Another moment in the show that I'm just like... really?!

1. that after-show hug between kelly & whitney also made me uncomfortable and looked a little rehearsed/forced. pay special attn to kelly's face.

2. uhm. i'm not sure how I felt about whitney's "contribution" to the styling of the sass and bide show... & then kelly referencing it. again, scripted.

3. although I feel a way about her, I couldn't deny that stephanie DID look a little cute with her best mary-kate impression in the school cafe w/ LC.. loL.

Kelly Cutrone does not seem like the type of lady to hug someone, especially after their first day, and only because they a) made a good decision about pants, and b) sent some models down the runway.

Side note: why is everyone always out for breakfast, lunch, dinner, but never seems to be eating? Does Heidi eat? She's starting to look sickly. I actually feel sorry for her (but then I look at those Heidi/Spencer staged Valentine's photo ops and that feeling goes away).

Why do they never show anyone paying the bill? Just once, I'd like one of them to pick up the cheque and say, "dammit, I knew we shouldn't have ordered the lobster!"

She definitely said work aesthetic and it definitely made no sense. Also, I love Whitney but she was driving me crazy repeatedly saying "anyways" while working with Sass and Bide. I also hate the way she pronounces words ending with ing.

I feel like Heidi's boobs get bigger and more ridiculous every time I see her.

My favorite part was when Whitney was waiting for Kelly to get off the phone in the LA office and we got to hear KC on her phonecall. I had just been explaining to my boyfriend the significance of KC in the fashion world and I had told him she will call you, go "hey it's cutrone" and then scream obscenities at you. And then she did just that!! I hope we get to see more of her freakouts, she definitely has the potential to be the best character. I would have been terrified to hug her.

Question for Fashionista: Does it really make sense for Whitney to get involved in PR if all she wants to do is be a stylist? It doesn't really make sense to me. I've interviewed with fashion PR firms and when I've said I was interesting in styling they've told me that would not be in my job description whatsoever. Can someone explain this to me?

She looked a lot cute, andremichael. I actually had to rewind that part to make sure it was her in the first shot. All of a sudden Stephanie has style? I smell a stylist...and a rat.

Katie you are so right, Whitney pronounces "ing" like "inc". But I love watching her for some reason. The blond haired one from Sass & Bide seemed just as bitchey as KC to me. I would've been scared shitless to work for them at 21. Was also "shocked" at the hug scene.

I thought Lauren looked sophisticated in her chanel eyeglasses. I wished she would forget about Brody and concentrate more on her school and internship. Now that Whitney is gone hopefully there would be more interaction between Lauren and Lisa Love those are alwauys awkward to watch but funny at the same time.

watching late night reruns of "the hills." WHAT IS WRONG WITH HEIDI???? she used to be cute in a generic way, but now she looks like a scary "random fug" from gofugyourself.com. right???

also, how long were lauren and whitney in paris? they act like they were gone a year.

this show is getting too ridiculous.
