Guess We Should Talk About Gwyneth...

Apr 30, 2008 @ 3:17pm

gwyneth.jpgDear Gwyneth,

You're the talk of the town thanks to Iron Man's impending premiere.

Every newspaper/blog/talk show passes judgment on your legs, your children and your heels, (which by the way are so beautiful they make me want to take out a loan to go to Barneys).

I'm sorry everyone's being so mean.

I don't think you come off as cold and snobby, (in fact, that one time I met you in London you were beyond warm, friendly and gracious), but rather you handle your fame with the grace of movie stars past.

And your clothes? Not to obsess, but I'm in love with nearly everything you wear. Your short numbers of late have been fresh, innovative and appropriate. And that black lace Stella McCartney? Natalie and I pretty much had a heart attack when we saw pictures of it - it was kind of perfect.

So keep wearing whatever you want and talking about your kids and living part-time in London because I think everyone's just a little bit jealous.

Or, as Brett says, "Don't let the haters bring you down."

xo
Britt

I'm sorry, fashionista. I beg to differ. I think the fug girls say it best.

The fit is a bit... clumsy, to me, but still a pretty work of art. The neck part is my favorite, the rest is a tad confusing -- nude, then black further down...

My fave was that lace dress with the tuxedo jacket. SO short, and SO amazing-looking.

I love her. I love this dress.
I also loved the Elizabeth Taylor-face dress (for lack of a better description). She's been looking so fresh and happy lately.

Hah hah - GP being warm and gracious! She's becoming a really good actress then! Perhaps some of her Spence classmates can shed the light on her "warm" personality.

whenever i see or hear about the so-called awesomeness of gwyneth paltrow, i think of a 'vogue' interview that i read back in 2001, which ended with the following quote from her:

"you can take the girl out of the upper east side, but you can't take the upper east side out of the girl."

i kid you not - and the article preceding it was more of the same. since then, i have no patience *whatsoever* for her smug posturing. to me, she embodies all the negative aspects of old hollywood: vanity, self-indulgence, and utterly inflated self-importance. audrey hepburn she is not.

Normally I'm not a huge Gwennie fan, but I do agree that she looks amazing in all her short dresses and fab shoes :), everyone else is drinking the hater-aide.

i don't find her pretentious at all. most of the quotes that people use to back up that idea are actually things that any intelligent, well-educated person would say. plus, her spanish is damn good for a gringa!

I think every famous woman these days gets irrational amount of hate, in fact make that every famous person.Times have changed and people just love hating on celebs while at work in their cubicels, who can blame them, none of what is written on the net is real anyway.

I saw Iron Man last night (boyfriend works at Marvel) and Gwyneth was SO beautiful and her outfits were so chic. She rocked these awesome heels through the last act of the movie, and although it wasn't very believable she could run for her life in them, I didn't mind one bit.
