Campaign Roundup: Lily and Natasha Swap Styles!

You may have noticed that Whole Foods is (once again) crammed with lithe spirits named Irina, Anabela, and Kinga.

There’s a reason for that and it’s simple: Campaign season is officially here!

If you don’t have time to camp out at Milk Studios all day to watch the girls, here’s a little cheat sheet of what’s happening so far:

Fanorexics will be psyched to hear that Lily Donaldson is now Gucci’s main girl. She’s pairing up with a few backup dancers - including Abbey Lee, the Aussie upstart who got the Gucci exclusive in Milan - for their next big campaign, which is something of a Gypsy-Chic explosion.

But what happened to Gucci’s main face, Natasha Poly?

Funny you should ask - she’s taking the reigns at the Dolce & Gabbana campaign, which Lily D. ruled last season with Gemma and Jessica Stam. Now it’s Natasha, plus Kasia Strauss and maybe Jessica Stam again as the fearsome threesome.

And remember the cute new blonde, Agnete? She’s bumping Kate Bosworth out of her CK Jeans billboard this Fall. Steven Meisel is shooting the full campaign this week, but he’s got a little bit of trouble: They’re trying to book 8 boys and about 16 girls for the ads, but so many girls aren’t in town that the number might have to go down.

Lil D for Gucci is a bit of a surprise. But, gypsy-chic? ugh. blah.
lol@fanorexics. It's actually very constructive to see models out and about. In the flesh, any myths are disspelled: does she really have big thighs? are her legs that long in real life? does she have good skin?
it's more than just the body, it's also the way they carry themselves.
To be honest though, it is a little disheartening that most of these girls will only get 'fanorexic' attention (to reuse the term). Most people have no idea who they are. They just see a tall pretty girl and carry on.
The attention has to come from somewhere.

Now, back to the real world...

i was really suprised at lily d but i'm sure she'll be great. she's an amazingly good model. i really dont think she's THAT anorexic looking. she did lose weight recently but there are some models out there who are WAY worse than her. she probably should gain a couple of pounds but she doesnt look repulsive or anything either.
