Kylie Does Diamonds

Apr 23, 2008 @ 3:41pm

-1.jpegShalom Harlow still reigns supreme as the face of Tiffany, but Kylie Minogue is ready to give her some competition.

The Aussie singer and lingerie "designer" was just announced as the new face of TOUS, the Spanish jewelry line that has a lot of money but not a lot of visibility (yet).

She'll pose in a series of magazine and online ads, and she looks pretty sparkly, albeit in a Long Island Mom kind of way.

Of course, the big question is payment:

Did she get Australian dollars, Euros... or just a heap of diamonds?

Tous is all over right now. I was in Mexico City a few weeks ago, and it's literally the Coach of Latin America. Some of their stuff is adorable, but I couldn't bring myself to buy anything because it didn't seem quality enough for the prices they were demanding. But, just like Coach, you can find tacky knock-offs in the ethnic neighborhoods of major Latin cities.

I think Kylie sucks. She's just another pop tart, I'd rather see someone classy representing brands I might like to buy.

No, Kylie is awesome! Did anyone else see the exhibit of her costumes at the V&A? Her Dolce and Gabbana collection is totally amazing. Kylie is the Madonna of the rest of the world, outside the US. She's like football/soccer. Everyone cares except the Americans.

Jac, Kylie is the classiest pop tart around. If this were Madonna (& "Hard Candy" cover) I'd understand your problem, but Kylie is basically the definition of "class" as far as pop musicians go.

(Well, there's Sophie Ellis-Bextor, but no one knows who she is.)

well, I'm from Mexico, and TOUS is everywhere. Everyone has a TOUS bag or some kind of jewelry. I actually hate it.

to jac who said they wanted something classy.
if you hadn't noticed classy is a really tacky word that actually puts down the person saying it. eg. they lack class that the desired object has.
so why are you even making that comment if you require something ahem stylish?
