Those based in Soho, New York may have wondered why Louis Vuitton felt it necessary to hoist another giant banner proclaiming their store on Greene Street.
The answer, of course, is show business.
For the next week-ish, Amy Adams and Meryl Streep will be on the street, filming the new romantic comedy, Julie & Julia. The movie is based on the book, which is based on what happened when one chick decides to cook through everything Julia Child has ever made. Amy Adams plays the girl; Meryl Streep plays the chef.
But it looks like “Julie” gets other distractions besides cooking - there’s a giant lighting set up right outside the LV boutique, and Amy’s trailer is parked just outside, so it seems she’ll shop as well as souffle (hopefully the Proenza boys won’t get jealous.)
If only LV made monogrammed aprons… oh wait, they probably do.
