And you thought Faran was a flake.
Today, Lauren Conrad announced a new partnership with College Tonight, a social networking site aimed at campus communities.
Not only will Lauren be paid a lot to blog her opinions on the site, she’s also being given her own opportunity to showcase her style, and of course, her burgeoning fashion line, which she’s aligned with ShopIntuition in order to drive eCommerce.
Now, we think Lauren Conrad should absolutely take advantage of every business opportunity possible, and so if an internet company offers her a gig, cool -
But we can’t help noticing: Lauren’s life on The Hills seems a lot more like Juicy Campus, not some sanitized attempt at the social networking that Facebook and MySpace already enable college kids to do.
But maybe that kind of tawdry network is more of a Heidi endeavor?

Hah! That’s the best lede in the history of Fashionista.
Ugh. Enough about Lauren Conrad already. She is the worst thing to happen to my school, ever.
If Lauren Conrad and the word fashion are used together one more time, I will be convinced of our imminent destruction!
when is she going to go away??? have the gods no mercy??
i don’t really think of lauren as a “college student”– i know she takes fashion classes, but I would think they could pick someone who actually is a full time student at a prominent university
It’s unfortunate that life is so much about networking and who you know. Lauren is a hopeless human being but she is one in the public eye, so therefore will always be looked up to. Blame our society for this, not her. Even though I am also really sick of her face…
I love this site and all but am super disappointed that you would actually post the link to Juicy Campus…that’s pretty much directly advertising for girls being vicious and mean to each other. As someone who has had friends be called fat and slutty on it, I think the last thing it needs is more people going to check it out.
