Lydia Hearst Says, Greetings Upper East Siders!

Apr 21, 2008 @ 3:38pm

Lydia Hearst and Michelle Tractenberg At last season's Marc party, Faran found out that Lydia Hearst and Michelle Tractenberg were BFF. She took that photo at left to prove it, air kissed, and moved on.

But it seems Lydia and Michelle do more than just fashion shows together - they also do TV.

Today, at this very second, Lydia Hearst is filming one of her first scenes for Gossip Girl, the show that Michelle Tractenberg will soon enter.

According to one of her reps, Lydia will be playing a "socialite," which is obviously quite a stretch for the model / actress / activist / workout fiend.

When will her episodes air? Will she torture Serena or Blair? Will Nate or Chuck fall victim to her charms?

Or is she... gasp... THE REAL GOSSIP GIRL?

Sit tight, little preppies.

xoxo Gossip Girl... oh, who are we kidding.

I'm still really really excited about the show tonight. Is it sad I cancelled dinner plans when I realized I wouldn't make it home in time? I need tivo...

That's really frustrating, considering that in the books G is Nates girlfriend who she met in rehab and her and serena already knew eachother and they become good friends also. I know people probably say this all the time, but the show is 98% different then the books... seriously. Blair would never wear any of those outfits, or act that tacky. It's just a shame they had to take something so great and use it's name and names of the characters and turn it into something totally different.

I admitt the show is good, but now using titles from a great book series if your not going to follow up with it!

i thought that the real gossip girl is supposed to be eric serena's brother

and according to a past times article( i think) (or maybe jezebel) that it was supposed to be revealed in the season finale but then the whole writers strike situation happened.

this show is so fucking good. i agree that blair is not nearly as awesome as she was in the books or serena isn't as gorgeous but it's really impossible to create that perfect of a show. at this point i pretty much accept that they are different and love both for what they are.
and lydia hearst will be fucking perfect for gg. she fits in perfectly. i'm so curious to see how her character will turn out.
also, gossip girl can't be eric seeing how she's voiced by kristen bell, who's, um a girl? besides, it wouldnt make any sense at all. and i dont think she will ever be revealed or at at last not this early into the series.

i've been driving my friends crazy all month about it, but if LH is gossip girl, that's great because i've beenanxious to find out who she it, i was thinking that it was that girl who told blaire, "consider yourself dethroned Queen B" but it didn't really make sense

i still don't get why everyone is obsessed with this show. the only girls i know who read the books (or who will admit to reading them, anyway) are 7th graders. apparently GG's for the middle schooler in all of us?

well, why you're pondering why everyone is obsessed with this show (i am because it's oh so good: the drama, the intrigues, the clothes, chuck...what's not to love, really?), i am going to wonder why everyone thinks the books are so much better. they're absolutely terrible. i read the first one, and i'm frankly amazed that i continued reading long enough to finish it at all. the characters and scenarios are so much more interesting on the show. keep the juvenile plotline and chuck's stupid monkey where they belong: not on the air.
