Olatz. That deep a red does not flatter Kidman's chalkiness tone and dishwater blond hair. Also, my perception of the prototypical YSL femme is sultry, tan, and slightly exotic looking. Bianca Jagger being the prototype.
And yes, I know that Karen Elson totally made it work in her campaign for them a few years back, despite her pallid skin tone. But that's because Elson is magical.

Definitely Nicole Kidman. The contrast of the bright red against her pale skin is stunning. Also, the dress simply looks more appealing on Nicole's body.
It looks too orange on Olatz. Not to mention the squished cleavage combined with that tacky necklace is overkill.

Is it fine to say neither? I dare Nicole to make her face move.

I just hope that one day America realizes that naturally pale skin is actually beautiful, and that frying (and prematurely aging) your skin to look more "exotic" is kinda pathetic. Redheads were not meant to look tanned. I don't like Nicole, and do agree she looks like an alien. But I was hoping that, in 2008, we would be smart enough about health and realistic enough about beauty not to comment on so-called "chalky" skin.

Chalk-, or milk-, white skin can be beautiful. Karen Elson, Dita Von Teese, Rose McGowan: these are just three examples.
I just think this shade of red is wrong on Nicole, especially with her hair dyed this shade. It is NOT her natural hair color, and it makes her look washed out and, honestly, rather sickly.
I also don't think paler skin needs to be championed quite so much. All the top girls, cept Chanel Iman, are pale as pale can be.
I hate the tanorexic look, I do.
But I think Olatz is naturally dusky and olive toned in her complexion. Much like my own mother, who does not tan, but always looks it. It's a characteristic of Mediterranean, semitic, and Hispanic origin, which unfortunately seems to be thought of as less classy in the world of fashion (and the media in general).
And don't even pretend to know what I mean by the word "exotic".
