The Sartorialist Takes a Field Trip

Yale Hat To: Natalie@fashionista.com

From: HoodiesOnly@yale.edu

Yo Fashionista,

I saw Scott “The Sartorialist” Schuman walking around Yale today
followed by a crowd of lit majors wearing a uniform of skinny jeans,
chunky heels, excessive scarfs and creative bracelets.

So keep an eye out for preppy art kids and blue blooded trust fund princesses in the
next few days.

It seems like the blogging has already started, but what, exactly, is Scott doing down there? Another college photo shoot for W magazine, like the Pittsburgh one they did two years ago?

does anyone wish he would post more of his own comments on his photos?
i like to read what he thinks about the outfits, rather than reading the wannabe analysis!

that photoshoot was at penn state. which is in state college, pa. and although many penn staters are from pittsburgh...it is not in pittsburgh. at all.

all i know, is that he often sets up his 'street shots' i know a few girls (who look vaguely model-esque) who he asks to meet him at certain place at a certain time to take their picture.

RE guest 1:25 - is that how he gets repeat photos of regular people in nyc? i've wondered how he could bump into the same fabulously dressed people so many times. yeah yeah, i know it's easy to do that if they live/work in a certain area or frequent specific restaurants, but the above makes lots of sense if it's true.

the photos are exquisite so I don't really mind if he sets up his street shots. Although the whole skinny jeans/excessive scarfs/creative bracelets comment is SPOT ON!

Yale is actually north (up) of Manhattan. Not south (down). Guess you didn't go there?

Shinyredthermos is correct, The "Pittsburgh" photo shoot you are referring to was actually done at Penn State University in State College, Pa.

guest 1:25 - that's how he does it. plus how much of an art is it to be well dressed when you can just buy endless amounts of designer stuff and have the salespeople style you?

come to Dartmouth! ignore the Lindsay Lohan wannabes with their leggings and the Juicy Couture devotees! There are some of us here who dress well, even if we are a small minority

it was actually the december 2005 issue of W shot in state college pa which is Penn State.

They featured many athletes and other students, along with Marc Jacobs, who spotlighted the PSU Blue Band during fashion week...
