You Can’t Buy the Prada Bag, Even If You Can Afford It

Prada Bag Our favorite part of Entourage is when Billy Walsh calls Christina Ricci’s ex boyfriend (whose name we forget) “The Trust Fund Baby” and he almost beats him up in Spago.

We have a similar friend - also called “The Trust Fund Baby” - but she phoned us with a little lament today:

“I can’t get the Prada Trembled Blossom bag! It’s sold out! I mean, granted I wasn’t really aggressive about it…”

We don’t know what “aggressive” can mean to a girl who weighs less than the handbags she carries, but ok.

We’re dying to know who, exactly, bought the Trembled Blossom bag, and also how easy it is to make your own.

In fact, that last question might be answered a little later in the week (muhahah)…

you guys are so funny with your dr. evil laugh.
it sounds like your trust fund baby friend has a little too much time on her hands if that's the extent of her "laments"...

I have seen Tilda Swindon and Jennifer Love Hewitt with the bag...but that doesn't really answer your question because I bet they didn't buy theirs.

I am excited for the DIY version!!!

I put my name on the waiting list, with a credit card charge, and have not been called.

I was called about the shoes $980 for a wedge - but decided I ultimately couldn't do it.

As warped as this industry is, $980 for a wedge seems excessive, while $2150 for a limited edition bag featuring the runway theme is pretty tremendous.

(as an aside, many of the LV Richard Prince runway bags were in the $2100- $2495 price range. They are pretty spectacular and cheap for a piece of art. )

I read on a different fashion blog that the ink on that bag bleeds if it gets any raindrops on it. @_@

If she reads this she may not want to get the Fairy Bag as it bleeds!!! I've read so many blogs already who've had the same problem with this bag... shame, shame, shame:(

I went to the Prada store in SoHo, put my name on the waiting list in early March and literally had it on my arm a week later. Let me tell you, the colors are absolutely gorgeous in person. Pictures don't do it justice.

I agree with the comment at 5:43PM—the colors bleed because you need to take care of the bag. The sales associates at Prada basically said everything short of "If you get water on this bag, IT WILL get f-cked up." The pictures are actually hand-painted on underneath a protective coat on the bag's exterior. But honestly, who would be dumb enough to subject any purse made of those materials to the elements anyway?

oh cmon... get real! What I do know is that when paying upwards of $2500 for a bag, you want it to stay in tact and the ink to stay in place. It's as simple as getting your money's worth!!
