dior madden knockoffs.jpgSteve Madden knows that everybody on the planet is going to see Sex and the City - The Movie this weekend. He also knows that whatever is seen on the foot of Carrie Bradshaw is retail gold.

So he's done his research.

At left, the Dior shoe that Carrie will wear while wandering the city and pondering her relationship with Big for the 8-millionth time. At right, Steve Madden's copy.

He's so accommodating, he's even made a more sales-friendly version, with a lower, slimmer heel and lesser ankle strap.

How thoughtful.

... as there will be a directly proportional sales trend between these shoes & the movie's ticket sales this weekend. make that $$, madden.

Sadly I think the Steve Madden ones look less trashy than the Dior ones. And the low heeled ones arent that bad either.

I bought the dior shoes last summer and I love them. I personally think that the Steve Madden copies look really cheesy and cheap.

The diors in black are unimpressive. Carrie wears the brown ones in the movie, and i being the lemming that i am snapped up the gold ones at saks the minute i saw them (goodbye stimulus check!)

they are fantastic and i will kick anyone who comes up to me thinking that they are steve madden.

Yeah the sm are better.... Maybe its the gold hardware...

Also funny that the only people who like the Dior better are people who actually bought the Diors.

I have the Diors in black, and for as high and strappy as they are, they are incredibly comfortable. Not saying they were definitely worth the $780+, but I can pretty much guarantee the SM/Baker's/Asos versions won't be nearly as easy or blister-free to walk around the city in.

The SM ones are most certainly the cutest! I kind of want to buy them! The heel looks thicker to me making it easier to walk! They would look cute with jean shorts : )

There's another rip-off by Australian chain Wittners.
I think they're actually ok. Definitely better than SM.
But still not Dior

i live in paris, so i went and saw SATC on tuesday morning, when it opened here, and i can tell you, she doesn't lose the gladiators for the WHOLE movie ... not just the Dior pair, but a couple of others too. They're gorgeous, but I can't help but thinking how much they're going to date the movie ....

I'm all about design not labels.. So i definitely would have to say Steve Madden. Yeah, it's almost a direct knockoff, but the gold and snake skin touch add so much to it. And the body and heel of it are so hot. My opinion is that the original Diors look a bit too Harley or maybe even a bit Whitesnake.

xnoelle25, its not about the label. the reason knockoffs r such an outrage is because they openly ruin the designer's vision. there's no inspiration or heart to it, its just for looks. its like abstract art; it all looks somewut random, but theres an idea behind it. the knockoffs hav no idea, no vision, no inspiration. i LOVE the Dior ones (didnt buy them tho..im only 14. can u imagine how stupid i would look?) Steve Madden, Wittner, Patricia Field, and ASOS all look incredibly cheaper and poor quality in comparison to Dior. and Bakers lacks the couture feel. it doesnt hav so much to do with the label as it does in the detailing

I know this is utterly disgusting, but I prefer the steve madden over the Dior.
There, said it, something I never thought I'd say.
