We missed Karlie at the Met Ball last night – but this video makes up for it.
She pirouettes across the dance room at her agency, gets “wholesome” and “classic” career advice from Molly Sims and talks about how her love of sports turned into a love of runways.
The best part is when she teaches New York Magazine reporter Kendall Herbst how to walk – the lesson comes complete with signature death stare.
We love watching models talk. It’s such a good reminder of just how young they really are.

For the record, we st. louis girls don’t usually have such a thick southern accent, Karlie sounds like she has a tinge of tennessee (not that this is a bad thing). That was particularly striking to me, given that she is from Clayton, an upper mid class suburb of st. louis not exactly known for down-home twange (though we have plenty of that too)
That said, Karlie seems very kind and cute, and I secretly imagine the scenario of running into her in town. I would definetly give her a wave.

My friends and I are always bitching about how old we are at 21 (everytime we here ‘we need to talk’ we get scared its over! But like, chanel, karlie etc love them as I do think they are beautiful… I’m finally understanding why people use drastic measures to look like pre pubescent teenagers!

ohkino, I’m glad you noticed that too! I’m from Nashville and I couldn’t tell if she had a few accents muddled together…
There was one part where she says “great” and I kept rewinding it because it sounded just like my mom would say it. A little twangy. haha.
Other than that, I think she’s really cute. When I look at her I definitely don’t think “15″ so I have to keep reminding myself that she’s not going to be that eloquent at such a young age!

she’s lovely but her ballet technique makes me cringe! (i danced for 11 years.) she reminds me of a lot of young ballerinas though.
