Karl Lagerfeld’s new line of handbags and luggage will be produced by the Accessory Network Group and debut in Fall 09.
And in lieu of Lady Amanda Harlech, Lagefeld’s striking muse at Chanel, the designer will be inspired by himself.
The bags will go so far as to have his initials woven into the quilted designs and the CEO of ANG sounds thrilled, “There’s so much potential with the Lagerfeld line because Karl himself is endlessly inspiring.”
We’ve always thought of Karl as a sort of king of branding, but we’re guessing this is exactly what he meant when he answered questions at the Met Ball regarding which superhero he was channeling and he repeatedly answered, “Karl Lagerfeld.”
