Lifetime Wants to Be More Fashionable

lifetime logo.jpg When news got out that the new Project Runway would be leaving Bravo for Lifetime, the general reaction was, "Lifetime? You mean the channel that plays The Golden Girls?" [Full disclosure: I'm a huge GG fan, that's Golden, not Gossip, and I maintain Blanche Devereux was the original Samantha.]

And it looks like Lifetime made have heard us loud and clear. Former intern Brett wrote in to let us know that Lifetime's changed its logo - and it kind of looks a bit like Interview's.

We love it whenever there are cuter outfits involved.

The Golden Girls are great. However, I agree that Lifetime definitely doesn't have the edge that a lot of other channels do to make them, well, en vogue.

We'll see what changes. I mean lord knows they have the gay staff to give the channel the makeover it needs to get it ready for PJRW.

I still just can't see Tim Gunn and Heidi wedged between a melodrama about army wives and a made for TV movie about a teenage prostitute who is pregnant from her pimp, who is also her father, while trying to reconcile her relationship with her biological mother. Regardless of what font they use.

As much as I find my mother's love original Lifetime movies (She Said No, Sex and Mrs. X, Doves of Summer) the Golden Girls is the best thing on Lifetime. I read somewhere that the Golden Girls still gets a million views during the week. Crazy, huh? I guess they are trying to revamp, for when they announced the move of Project Runway, they also announced The Golden Girls would be moving to We. I hope they can pull this off, because if not, it could all just fall flat.

project runway just won't be the same. i hate lifetime. the only good thing on it is the golden girls and after they get rid of it lifetime is going be really crotchy. did i mention i hate lifetime?
