Living Lohan Kills Black Nail Polish Trend For Good

May 27, 2008 @ 1:33pm

Lindsay and Ali LohanWe fully admit we watched Living Lohan last night, and it was about on par with the latest Indiana Jones: Poorly planned, gleefully great when it wasn't paying attention, and ultimately better with alcohol.

But as Dinah Lohan constantly Googled herself, and the show's producers considered it a plot point, we noticed something awful:

Dinah was wearing black nail polish.

Her young but leathery daughter Ali was also wearing black nail polish.

Their rock solid assistant, whose sole job it seemed was to keep Googling the Lohans, wore black nail polish, too.

And so we knew, it's officially over. Like Kristen Johnson plunging from the window in the best Sex and the City episode ever, this was "the end of an era":

Black nail polish is dead.

But keep your bottles around, so you can coat silver barrettes, Tory Burch logos, and Prada sandal stones black, to make them cooler...

PS: The graphic at left is from Hollywood Grind. It has nothing to do with this article, except it shows Lindsay at age fourteen, and Ali at age fourteen. Odd how Ali looks like the older sister, isn't it?

The Lohans are just another revolting example of the scum of Hollywood.

Yes, it was Kristen Johnston who proved it was the end of an era when it became the end of Lexi Featherston.

But how awesome would it have been if it was actually Jennifer Coolidge?

Jennifer Coolidge was the crazy friend who had the purse party! Both were great episodes. :)

Ali looks about thirty-five! So sad to see Dina Lohan jacking another childhood. She reminds me of Amy Poehler's character in 'Mean Girls', especially in the scene where they dance to 'Jingle Bell Rock'. Yuck.

i'm not feeling the show, it's a sad attempt at fame. I am very angry at the fact that everyone weers black nail polish, 2 1/2 years ago in 7th grade when i started wearing it, i was deemed "goth" now everyone's wearing it, so it's regular. i'm settling for a very dark silver

i refuse to let the lohans, the hills girls, et. al., determine what i wear, how i wear it, or whether or not i wear it at all. changing my tastes to accommodate theirs, negatively or positively, ascribes them far more influence over my actions than they rightfully deserve.

long live BNP.

I am sooo mad that all these little kids, d-list celebrities, and grandma's are wearing dark polish. I love it and love how it looks on my hands and have been wearing it since Chanel created the navy blue starry night when i was in middle school. Damn these trendy wannabe bitches! too bad i look like a tramp in orange and pink. What am i going to do, green or yellow? blah.

not reguarding this, but Ali Lohan had an article recently in one of those gossip weekly mags, and she totally turned around the story. i know who she was talkinga bout....very untrue. She's the one who made that terrible video.. it wasn't about herself. rediculous little girl

I wore black (and white) nail polish in the 80's, so it isn't really a trend that started when Chanel put their version of it out. My earliest memory is of Madonna wearing those colors- as well as the neon colors- first. I am no Dina Lohan fan, WHATSOEVER, but she was more than a toddler back then, which means she rocked the trend before it was considered stylish.

Ijust got done watching thshow & Dinah had a french manicure.
I dont think Ali looks like her as much as Lindsey. I dont think Ali is as pretty. Bu I do understand Dinah and I dont blame her they are used to now living a certain way, It called a hustle and if it were any of you & u got the chance you would be hustling & grinding too! just because you se them on tv u still dont know them so y judge them. I dont think the child is pretty at all but if ppl are gonna pay her to be a star then let it be.
Out of all the Lohan family the Grandmother & the lil Son is the most real I have seen. They are not acting.
