Love Is Blind. We Are Not. "No, Thank You."

WHICH pop legend turned down both an invite to the Costume Ball and the cover of Fashion Rocks? She tells influential photographers that she disagrees with what Vogue tells American women.

Tricky and not only because I don't quite know who's a pop legend nowadays but... Lily Allen?

Debbie Harry? She seems badass, fashion people love her, and she is friends with tons of artists and photographers. It could also be Kylie Minogue, since I (surprisingly) don't recall seeing much of her in Vogue, though my memory isn't as encyclopedic as some Fashionista readers!

It's OBVIOUSLY not Lily Allen. The girl is talented and outspoke but she definitely isn't a "pop legend". Plus, she isn't THAT big in U.S., so she don't have the power to deny such huge promotional tools (I mean, even if she did, her handlers would totally force her to do. And it's not like she would deny such HUGE publicity. I mean, those are both A-List things and she is NOT A-List, at least in USA, so yeah...)

Mariah Carey came to my mind... because she's just releasing an album. But Madonna is too and it's more her type to do that. So it's probably her.

Vogue tells women to try to turn mutton into lamb and/or keep it permanently on lamb....as do all these other fash rags, so it's some "legend" who's not 'toxed, toned, and tanned to death.

IOW, hardly Madonna.....who was after all on last month's cover of Elle, in two countries.

It is Madonna... she was asked to be on the cover of Fashion Rocks but supposedly Anna Wintour wanted her to perform at the event as well. M wasn't having it. So she lost the cover. Madonna has yet to return to the pages of Vogue and seems to have no desire to do so in the near future.

Only Madonna would go up against Anna.
